Sample Price vs Production Price: What Noodle Buyers Should Expect
Understand why a noodle sample cost and commercial production quotation serve different purposes and cannot be compared directly.

Sample cost and production price answer different questions. A sample helps the buyer evaluate product fit; a commercial quotation prices a defined product, pack, quantity and delivery basis. Treating one as a scaled version of the other creates false expectations.
What may be included in a sample cost
Under Noodle House Food's current sample policy, product samples are free. The buyer pays the international courier cost first, and that courier amount can be deducted from the first formal order.
This policy covers the sample and courier arrangement. If a project requires a customized trial, special packaging or additional testing, ask whether separate development work, cost or timing needs to be confirmed before proceeding.
What defines a production quotation
A production quote needs the approved SKU or specification, saleable pack, carton, quantity by item, private label requirements, documents, destination and delivery term. It reflects a commercial production scenario, not a parcel.
The quotation should state currency, validity, inclusions and exclusions.
Standard sample vs customized sample
A catalog sample demonstrates an existing product. A customized sample tests requested changes. If the first goal is supplier screening, a standard sample may be faster. If the project depends on specific dimensions, texture or packaging, the buyer needs a controlled development route.
Ask what the sample represents and what will still change before production.
Courier cost is not freight cost
Express delivery of a small parcel and ocean or other commercial freight use different pricing systems. Do not extrapolate container freight from sample shipping. Provide shipment data and obtain a current quote for production.
Keep approvals connected
Record the sample code, evaluation result and approved changes. When requesting production price, attach the final specification and packaging brief so the supplier does not quote a different basis.
FAQ
Can the courier cost be credited to the first order?
Yes. Under the current Noodle House Food policy, the buyer pays the international courier cost first, and that amount can be deducted from the first formal order. Confirm the deduction on the final order paperwork.
Why can customized samples take longer?
They may require requirement review, trials and feedback cycles. The actual route depends on the requested changes.
Can I negotiate production price before sampling?
You can request an indicative quotation, but final comparability improves after the product and pack are defined.
